[2005] EWCA Crim 1082
A sentence of nine years' imprisonment for causing death by dangerous driving was not manifestly excessive for an offender with numerous previous convictions for driving offences who, after consuming alcohol, drove a stolen car into a field where children played, killing a teenager, and then failed to stop, and who subsequently asserted that a co-defendant had been driving at the relevant time and pleaded not guilty.
