[2010] EWCA Crim 2000

A judge had been entitled to give a Watson direction and a conviction was not unsafe, even though the jury had reached its verdict 15 minutes after the direction had been given. Although the jury had plainly been experiencing difficulty in reaching a verdict before the direction, its note to the judge had not suggested that there was no possibility of doing so.
