Although judge incorrectly ruled that defence photographs were inadmissible because they were not shown to the witness whose evidence they challenged, the appeal against conviction for unlawful wounding failed because the defence had adduced the photographs late in the proceedings and they would have permitted a fresh line of cross-examination.
