A distinction could be drawn between the purpose of executing the search warrant and the operational decision as to the timing of execution. Accordingly, a decision to bring forward a search for stolen goods so that suspects could be detained during the period of a Royal wedding, thereby preventing possible disorder, did not prevent the dominant purpose of the search being the one authorised by the warrant.
