PUBLISHED September 7, 2005

Police have written to 13 public schools and nine from the state sector to notify them about the unruly behaviour of pupils who were ordered off a beach during the summer.

Under new powers, more than 270 people, most of them youngsters, were told by police to leave the beach at Polzeath, north Cornwall, at various times at night during the school holidays.
