The Government announced in The Way Ahead in November 2006 that it intended to implement Lord Carter?s proposal to introduce a graduated fee scheme for litigators in the Crown Court.  The Legal Services Commission consulted on detailed proposals and have recently published a response to that consultation exercise.  The Ministry and the Legal Services Commission have now written to the Law Society to consult on their proposed Funding Order changes.
