Useful information to consider when submitting your Litigator Fee Graduated Fee Scheme claims

Here is some guidance on how we can work with you more effectively:

If you are claiming the Committal for Trial fee (for cases where the Representation Order is dated before 3 October 2011), please ensure you:

  • complete Section 4 of the LF1 form and;
  • include the amount in Section 8.

Please include all relevant documents before submitting your claim,

  • representation order,
  • indictment,
  • evidence of PPE and, if applicable;
  • prior authority and invoices.

If any of these are missing, then your claim may be delayed/rejected or assessed down.

Always complete Section 2 and if you are claiming travel costs, please provide a clear breakdown e.g. the dates travelled, where you were going to/from and the reasons for travelling.

We are accepting Version 8 of the LF1 form only. Anything submitted on previous versions will be rejected.

Time limits

For LF1s, claims must be submitted within three months after the last hearing date. In regards to requests for redetermination, article 29 (3)(a) of the order states that a request for redetermination must be made in writing 'within 21 days of the receipt of the fees payable'.

 For more information, please refer to our previous e-alert on time limits.

If you are submitting a request for redetermination can you please fill out an LF2 form as well as ensuring you submit the original LF1 and file of papers that were previously submitted as this will help us in the redetermination of your claim.

Please take a look at our payment dates before contacting us. This is updated on a weekly basis.

You can contact all the crown court billing teams by email.
