In care proceedings involving the father's sexual abuse of one of his children, it would be appropriate to allow the mother and the local authority to make use of material gleaned from the proceedings for the purposes of criminal proceedings involving the father, an application by the child for criminal injuries compensation and the local authority's care of the child when she reached the age of 18.
