Speedier process for chasing missing court record sheet information

The LSC will in future follow a much faster process to chase information they need to check on court record sheets.

The turnaround for further information requests sent to courts is now five working days instead of the previous agreement of 15 working days.

These requests are made on a document known as an AF3 form.

With immediate effect, any AF3 forms that are not received from the courts within the five day timescale will be escalated to HMCTS centrally and the court managers.

Our teams rely on court record sheets to validate claims and details in a number of different areas. Examples include:

  • case type
  • hearing types (sentence/abuse/Proceeds of Crime Act etc)
  • date listed for trial (for cracked trial purposes)
  • attendance at hearings
