In serving an abatement notice for nuisance under s.80 Environment Protection Act 1990 a local authority had a choice whether simply to require abatement of the nuisance or in addition to specify in the notice the works or steps required for that purpose, although circumstances could be envisaged where it would be wholly unreasonable not to specify the works or steps required.
