Call for review of court evidence

Research into how juries deal with complex scientific evidence should be carried out to prevent potential miscarriages of justice, MPs say.

Better links between scientists and lawyers were recommended by the Commons Science and Technology Committee.
It said the way statistics are explained to juries must be reviewed.
And it warned it was unsatisfactory that there is no protocol for validating scientific findings before they are presented in court.
