A judge's refusal to adjourn extradition proceedings and to extradite a prisoner who had been serving a sentence of imprisonment for public protection to Poland to stand trial for murder could not be criticised. The Tariff expired removal scheme had not been before the judge, but even if it had it was difficult to see that a different conclusion would have been reached, as there was nothing definite about the scheme's application to the prisoner and there were strong public interest reasons for fulfilling extradition obligations.
