[2001] EWCA Crim 1803

A community punishment order of 180 hours was unduly lenient for an offence of causing death by dangerous driving and was substituted with a sentence of 18 months' imprisonment where the respondent had killed the passenger in an oncoming car after overtaking on the brow of a hill at excessive speed whilst using a handheld mobile telephone.
