PUBLISHED May 5, 2010A sentence of 51 weeks' imprisonment suspended for 24 months imposed for sexual activity with a child contrary to the Sexual Offences Act 2003 s.9 was unduly lenient and was replaced by a sentence of two years' imprisonment. The victim's expressed wish that the offender not receive a custodial sentence was irrelevant.
