The risk of suicide of a mother whose extradition to Poland was sought did not render her extradition oppressive and was not a significant and deciding factor in the balancing exercise under the European Convention on Human Rights art.8. The offences for which she was due to stand trial were quite serious, against a background of other offending, and there was a clear public interest in upholding an effective extradition process.
