[2010] EWCA Crim 1135

A court had erred in imposing extended sentences under the Powers of Criminal Courts (Sentencing) Act 2000 s.85 in respect of child sex offences which had been committed before September 30, 1998. Although the offender had committed further offences after that date, those involved only level one images for which it was not appropriate to add any extension period beyond the expiry of the custodial term.
