Sentencing reforms coming into effect in England and Wales will be hampered by a lack of staff and resources, probation officers have warned.

The measures, which are contained in the Criminal Justice Act, allow judges to impose indeterminate prison terms on dangerous offenders.
They also require tougher supervision of prisoners when they are released.
