Four out of five defendants are convicted in Britain today. Apparently that's not enough. The Crown Prosecution Service is now trying to further shift the balance of our justice system against those accused of crimes. These proposals are intended to help rape victims, but apply to all other crimes as well - and they put one of the most fundamental aspects of our criminal trial process under threat.
