London criminal solicitors may have recently received an undated letter from Wood Green Crown Court indicating that from now on it will only accept applications for bail via a CJSM email account.

The Association is in contact with Martin Jones, the Deputy Director HMCTS (Crime) in relation to this and it will update the membership as soon as there is further news.

The initiative seems premature, to say the least.  Less than 50% of CDS providers have a secure email account, and, of course there are other procedural concerns too.
