[2013] EWCA Crim 1276
A sentence of eight years' imprisonment imposed ona young offender for possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life, which was derived from a starting point of 18 years for an adult offender was appropriate for an offender who had willingly taken part in a gangland-type shoot-out on an inner city residential estate. The chances of serious injury or death to someone had been extremely high and the offender needed a substantial period of intense supervision and training away from the influence of gangs.
