A conviction for causing grievous bodily harm with intent was safe because, although the judge's direction to the jury that D's guilty plea to causing grievous bodily harm might "show a propensity to use unlawful violence to the extent of intending unlawful violence" was clearly misleading, he later gave the correct directions and it could not be said that in the context of the summing up as a whole the statement would have misled the jury.
