We will no longer be issuing written reasons for claim refusals or partial authorisations

Written reasons will no longer be provided for cost judge letters after we refuse or only partially authorise claims on litigator fee review forms (LF2).

Instead, we will request further information regarding your claim. Alternatively, should you wish to appeal to the cost judge, you may request written reasons from us.

Written reasons will only be provided on formal request.

This change is being made with immediate effect. The aim is to:

  • provide a faster turnaround when processing LF2 appeals and
  • ensure consistency in the way we work.
