The Criminal Procedure Rule Committee is considering a proposal to make new rules about appeal to the High Court in extradition cases. Members of the Committee would very much appreciate your views.
Whilst the Ministry of Justice provides the Committee with its secretariat, the proposal that is the subject of this invitation is not a government proposal, it is a Committee initiative (and one on which the Ministry itself will be invited to comment).
The Committee intends to consider the proposal again at its meeting in early May 2014.  For that reason the Committee is keen to have any comments you wish to make by Friday 18 April 2014 in order that they may be circulated to members in time for that meeting.
Although the Committee does not intend to publish a list of those who comment or the content of their comments, respondents are asked to bear in mind that responses will be treated as public documents in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and may be made available to enquirers on request.
