An auction is being held to help raise funds for Judicial Review proceedings against MOJ's decision to press ahead with the 2-tier contracting system.  An auction for various items/ events/ opportunities that is open to anyone. Auction items will be added throughout the life of the auction and will be labelled by a LOT number .  The auction will end on the 10th January at midnight and the highest bidder for each LOT will win. To claim their item the winning bidder must donate the amount bid to the fund within 48hours ie. by midnight on the 12th January 2015. 100% of the money raised will go to funding the legal proceedings. Please click here to access the bidding site http://tl.gd/n_1sjnkr3 .

Why?

The auctions are being held to raise money to support the Judicial Review against The Lord Chancellor, Chris Grayling. Mr Grayling has announced plans to completely overhaul the provision of legal aid in criminal cases. This will see around 1600 firms cut to 527 or less. The legal profession have been vocal in their opposition to the proposed changes as they believe that the justice system in this country will be damaged beyond repair. The proposed changes will mean a two tier system in which only the wealthy will have access to a good standard of representation. Despite the clear opposition to the proposals by everyone from the judiciary down Mr Grayling will not listen.

How can I help?

There are a number of ways that people can help. Every donation to the fund helps. 100% of the donations will be contributed to the fund. You can either donate at http://www.criminallawyersunited.com or place a bid on an auction item.
If you are able to then you can donate an item/ event/ opportunity by contacting one of the admin team. At the very least you can bring anyone and everyone's attention to the cause; email, share and retweet.
