R v B (2006)

While the age of an offender was something that a court should take into account, it could not be a matter that prevented an appropriate sentence on the particular facts being passed. A sentence of detention for life with a specified period of three years and eight months for rape where the offence was very serious and where the offender had been 15 years old at the time of the offence was not manifestly excessive.
