The judge was wrong to entertain the defendant's ex parte application without notice to the claimants for an order that when the defendant's police officers entered the claimants' premises they had reasonable grounds for believing that a murder suspect was in the premises, and that at trial, the claimants would be prohibited from asking any questions of the defendant's witnesses the answer to which might reveal the grounds of the officers' belief that the suspect was on the premises.
