Sports book created by prisoners to be part of 2012 Cultural Olympiad
PUBLISHED July 17, 2012The invite to visit London's Wandsworth prison, or "Wanno" as the jail is known by insiders, came from the aesthete and incorrigible recidivist Peter Wayne. Wayne and I are old prison associates. We first met in Long Lartin maximum security prison in 1989. I was serving life for murder. He was serving 10 years for armed robbery ? odd, I thought at the time, for a former public schoolboy.
