High street cull as 136 firms disappear

The Solicitors Regulation Authority has confirmed the names of 136 firms which closed because they did not secure professional indemnity insurance. 

The firms had entered the Extended Policy Period after 1 October and were given 90 days to secure cover, or face immediate closure on or before 29 December.
