The webinar will address:-

  • Effective participation in youth court proceedings including the use of intermediaries;
  • Sentencing in the youth court and other ancillary issues addressed at the sentencing hearing;
  • Breach proceedings.

Mel Stooks is a partner at TV Edwards who specialises in youth crime. She qualified in 1998  at Powell Spencer and Partners, thereafter establishing youth  crime departments at both Hickman and Rose and McCormacks .  She regularly represents young people at the police station and court and retains a special interest in those with learning difficulties and mental health problems.  Mel collaborates with youth groups to provide workshops for young people; she delivers training for appropriate adults and professionals, most recently for the College of Law.
