ATTORNEY GENERAL'S REFERENCE (NO.16 OF 2009) sub nom R v JAMES YATES (2009)

[2009] EWCA Crim 2439

A concurrent sentence imposed on a young offender that comprised seven years' detention for possession of a prohibited firearm and six years' detention for two counts of assisting an offender was unduly lenient, as sentences for assisting an offender should normally be consecutive and there was no reason for that principle to be disapplied.
