[2006] EWCA Crim 703

A sentence of four years' imprisonment imposed on the defendant following a guilty plea to an offence of causing death by dangerous driving was unduly lenient, particularly as the maximum sentence for the offence had increased from 10 years to 14 years since the coming into force of the Criminal Justice Act 2003 . The sentence was quashed and a sentence of five-and-a-half years' imprisonment was substituted.
