The presentation will be made by Colin Beaumont. Colin is an experienced criminal practitioner. He qualified as a barrister in 1982 and spent 14 years in the court service before re-qualifying as a solicitor in 1996. In that year he joined a major criminal legal aid practice in the Thames Valley area and later became a partner. He is a consultant with that firm and an experienced court and police station duty solicitor. In addition he is an experienced presenter having presented courses to the profession for the last 20 years.

An awful lot has happened over the last 12 months and it is very difficult to keep up with it all. When on earth do you get the time to read all the consultation documents, case-law and the Acts of Parliament. There is never enough time to satisfy the needs of the client and to keep up academically.
