LCCSA Youth Justice Training Session

We are pleased to invite you to an LCCSA Youth Justice Training Session, delivered by Robbie Eyles of the Youth Justice Legal Centre (YJLC).

  • Date: Wednesday 29 July 2026
  • Time: 5:45pm – 7:30pm (with a 10 minute break mid-session)
  • Venue: Online

This practical update will cover the latest developments in youth justice law, policy and practice affecting children within the criminal justice system. Topics will include:

  • The evolving diversion landscape, including Outcome 22, Outcome 23 and Deferred Prosecution Schemes
  • New Government guidance on child knife possession
  • Recent developments in online and image-based offences
  • AI and child exploitation legislation
  • Significant recent case law
  • An overview of the Government’s Youth Justice White Paper and forthcoming reforms.

Throughout the session, Robbie will focus on the practical implications for defence solicitors representing children at the police station and in the Youth Court. Subject to time, there will also be an opportunity for questions and discussion at the end of the presentation.
