The planning process is on-going and involves:

• developing the detail of the lists for the sitting arrangements of courts, including the types of cases being listed, changes in any routine arrangements for CPS and non-CPS prosecutor listings and any changes to start and finish times of court sessions
• developing and agreeing with the judiciary and partner agencies a protocol for completing any Olympics-related criminal cases in magistrates’ and crown courts expeditiously – a Regional Listing Coordinator will manage the listing of those cases
• the Olympics Planning Group and Olympics Working Group considering and agreeing contingency plans for accommodating more crime work than expected and whether or not special plans are required for the Paralympics (29 Aug to 9 Sep).
• putting in place an Olympics Coordinating team to monitor and handle business delivery issues at the time of the Games and gathering key contact details from non-HMCTS parties to operating the courts.
