The Olympics is likely to disrupt your journey

As well as being affected by road restrictions, if you travel to and from courts and /or police stations by public transport then your journey is likely to be affected if you:

  • travel to one of the mainline stations which will be much busier than normal e.g. London Bridge, Kings Cross, Liverpool Street etc;
  • travel to or change trains at one of the main tube / rail interchanges which will be much busier than normal e.g. Stratford, London Bridge, or normally busy tube stations e.g. Bank;
  • travel by car or bus as some routes will be diverted or delayed due to the Olympic Route Network – these are set-aside road lanes for athletes and officials to the venues;
  • commute into London on network rail services - your normal rail service may operate to a different time table, stop at different stations or terminate before its usual destination.

You may travel on the tube well away from one of the venues but your route may be one of those assessed as being a likely popular route to a particular venue or involve a busy interchange point.

Transport for London provides advice about likely transport disruption. A ‘hotspot’ map giving a day-by-day anticipated impact of disruption for main tube routes and tube / rail interchanges
